I hold City & Guilds Qualifications CS30, CS 31 & CS 38. They are for the following:
CS30 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting.
This qualification covers chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting trees at ground level, including aerial and ground work. Training occurs in workshops or woodland environments, emphasising routine maintenance performed by operators. Cross-cutting processes timber under tension, shaping it into manageable sections or specified sizes, often alongside snedding or de-limbing. Extreme tension cases and root-plate severing are excluded. Operators must be properly trained and certified to handle chemicals or machinery in compliance with current legislation. This standard is for chainsaw users.
CS31 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm.
This qualification covers directional tree felling using a chainsaw, considering tree size, weight, condition, species, guidebar size, and weather. It applies to coniferous and broadleaved trees in various positions. Operators must be properly trained and certified in accordance with legislation.
CS38 - City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope & Harness.
The CS38 assessment shows that candidates have the skills to safely climb and navigate a tree’s canopy using rope and harness. It also proves they are able to perform aerial rescues from tree crowns or standing poles. Suitable for those inexperienced in tree climbing, the qualification covers risk assessment, legislation, knots, rope work, movement within trees, and rescue techniques.
AC Trees will undertake any tree or hedge work, all aspects are covered and to a very high standard. Overgrown trees and hedges can make your outdoor space look unkempt and untidy. Overgrown trees and hedges can block light into your home and can be potentially dangerous in windy weather. We expertly cut and prune back trees and hedges to make your outdoor space safer, better looking in the summer and more manageable in the autumn & winter months.
